Chattanooga Cross Country Festival
The Bradley Central Cross Country team had a very good showing this past weekend at the Chattanooga Cross Country Festival held at Chickamauga Dam. The team placed 4th out of 33 teams competing. Sophomore Paul Patterson led the way finishing 3rd out of 227 runners in a time of 17:09. Running next for the Bears was freshman Harold Smith finishing 15th in a time of 17:56. Rounding out the top seven was freshman Collin Gwaltney (69th, 19:27), freshman Corey Dixon (74th, 19:30), senior Jake Curtis (78th, 19:32), senior Kyle Baltimore (111th, 20:13), and freshman Caleb Pace (154th, 21:32). Coach Cotton offered this about the race: “We had our best team finish of the season today. A couple of runners did not run as well as they are capable of or we would have been even higher than 4th, but I am very pleased with the performance overall. The good thing is that our younger kids ran good times on a very tough course that is also going to be where the region is going to be held. We just have to keep working hard and improving.” The Bears will compete in the Jesse Owens Invitational in Moulton, Alabama this Saturday.
