Volunteer Cross Country Classic

The Bradley Central cross country teams traveled to Knoxville this past weekend to compete in the Volunteer cross country classic. Mother Nature unleashed her fury during the races causing times to be slower than normal, but there were still some positives that came out of the trip. On the boys side, Paul Patterson once again led the way. The freshman sensation has been the lead bear runner in all four of the teams races this season. He covered the 5K course in a time of 18:20 which was good enough for a 5th place finish. Following him was junior Jake Curtis who ran his best race so far of the season finishing 9th in a time of 18:52. Rounding out the boys team was senior Jessie Garrett who finished 55th in a time of 22:53. On the girls side, senior Jacquelin Pitcock led the way finishing 3rd in a time of 21:12. Second for the girls was fellow senior Andrea Spencer who finished 21st in a time of 24:20. Rounding out the girls was Elizabeth Triplett, who was running her first race of the season. Triplett finished in 50th place. The cross country teams next race will be this Saturday in Alabama at the Jesse Owens Classic.
